This is how we pack in 2021

Így csomagolunk mi 2021-ben is

In March, when we closed our store due to the coronavirus situation, we found ourselves in a completely new situation. We had to somehow quickly bring online the many, many Hungarian designer products that could only be admired on shelves - and this brought with it an interesting issue: the packaging of online products.

Since we've received several questions/requests lately, we thought we'd quickly summarize what and how we do it.

We have long only provided paper bags in the store upon special request, and the individual (non-)packaging of products is usually as the manufacturer intended, for compelling reasons - so we also have products wrapped in foil.

When packaging online orders, our main consideration was that every product should arrive undamaged, in the same form as we sent it - and the second consideration was to generate as little "new" waste as possible.

Fortunately, our suppliers provide us with boxes, so we use these as well, and we were lucky enough to obtain a large batch of used cardboard boxes from a domestic IT company, which are the ideal size for us (hence the funny inscriptions sometimes on the boxes :)).

In addition to the box, you can also find quite a few "space fillers", which have a very important role: they prevent the products from moving, which is especially important in the case of e.g. gastronomic products or fragile goods. These are all fillers coming from suppliers, or elements collected from here and there in our own lives: foil and bubble wrap (technical items), corrugated cardboard (from renovation), textile paper (textiles arrive protected with these).

These filler elements are very important in protecting the products, consider them as materials that have already been used once - the foil used many times should not be your enemy, because without it we cannot safely send, for example, peanut butter and a sweater in the same box (at your own risk, of course).

We always include a little card, which is very important to us, so that our message can reach even more interested people.

You can also choose to pick up your order in person during opening hours, completely without packaging. If you have any extra requests regarding shipping packaging, feel free to write a comment on your order, and we look forward to seeing you in the store!
