Emma is an elf.

Ema is a woman. Sometimes she is good, sometimes she is bad, but what is constant is that she is not very talkative. This book is about her everyday joys and worries, and through its pages we can experience a week together, from a sleepy Monday to a classic Sunday (you know: cleaning, a fire, a sore throat). Perhaps in some moments we even recognize ourselves.

The character of Ema was dreamed up by Czech illustrator Iveta Merglová. Ema is organized, loves to read, and sometimes goes swimming or gymnastics. She works, but finds her work boring and unnecessary. Sometimes she feels everyday life empty, meaningless, and hopeless, other times she enjoys life and doing nothing. Ema is a wanderer. Sometimes she is good, sometimes bad. But her self-irony is delightful.
